Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
