Response from Officials

A Conservative MP, whose district includes Huntingdon, called it “sad” but essential for police to quickly disclose the ethnicities of those detained.

Far-Right Exploitation

Prior to the official disclosure, conservative figures had demanded a faster response. As an example, Chris Philp urged for prompt sharing of suspect information, while the Reform UK leader posted on X that the public needed to know “without delay”.
