The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu concludes her season and has decided to continue with her coach for 2026.

Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year as a result of a medical condition she has been fighting for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering again next season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
