The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest Far Cry game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for delighting in chaos and insanity with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting captivating, ideologically themed tales. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose projects have exemplified all of those elements.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by having a different location and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their steady belief and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Each game is a take of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” noted Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can change from year to year, while always delving into the essence of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our mutual unconventional, daring approach to the screen.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
