Tottenham Boss Frank Calls Vicario Critics 'Not Genuine Fans'
The Cottagers Start Strong to Beat Spurs and Increase Pressure on Frank
Spurs supporters who jeered keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "those individuals cannot be true Tottenham fans" by boss Thomas Frank.
Tottenham conceded a pair of goals in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, registering their 10th Premier League at home loss of 2025.
However the primary topic of discussion was Fulham's second goal when the keeper gave away possession well beyond his area.
He ventured out to handle a long ball and took the ball near the touchline.
But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italy international spun and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.
King passed the ball off to Welsh midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a strike into the goal from the touchline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.
Seconds afterwards when the ball went to Vicario again, a number of Tottenham supporters jeered him.
The team were booed off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.
A particular of those jeering episodes truly angered Frank.
"I heard some of our fans apparently jeered the incident and booed after, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated regarding the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.
"[They] cannot be real Spurs fans that act that way. Fair enough booing after the match, no problem, but when we are in play, we are supporting each other, we are with one another going forward."
Kenny Tete had given Fulham a fourth-minute lead prior to Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second-half showing.
Ex- top-flight goalkeeper Joe Hart stated that the second goal was "completely avoidable".
"I do appreciate the supporters' disappointment," Hart added. "I am aware the role the keeper is performing. He is a excellent team player, he is a real figure in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be judged by your decisions.
"He was heavily involved in what turned out to be the winning goal."
'It is Part of Football, I'm a Big Man'
Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Vicario After the Match
Italy international the keeper is in his 3rd season with Tottenham.
He said after the game that he had to take the feedback.
"That score was a mistake of mine, I take accountability for it," he said.
"My aim was to kick the ball far and I just hit the ball in a poor way. That made an more difficult challenge to overcome."
He said being booed "comes with football".
"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he continued. "The team cannot be influenced by the circumstances in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do what they think.
"It's on us to remain more calm, to concentrate on our own performance. We are missing in calmness and poise to overturn results. Today is a bad loss and it's tough to accept."
'I Was Surprised No One Went Back to the Goal Line'
Despite the keeper's mistake, it was not an simple score for Wilson to convert.
In fact it was the next most distant top division goal of the season – following Adams' 43.3 yard strike for the Cherries against Sunderland, which interestingly also occurred on Saturday.
Wilson said he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an empty net to aim for.
Ten moments passed between the keeper exiting of his box and the midfielder shooting – which was five moments after the clearance.
"It seemed to me like the keeper was away from the area for ages," Wilson said.
"It amazed me none of the defenders went back to the line. When none of them covered the goal, my interest lit up a bit.
"[Destiny] Udogie fell as well, which gave me a bit of additional opportunity. After that it was solely about trying to make the right connection and place it on target. I felt a good sense, as soon as it left my foot, that it was heading in."

Booing Whilst We Are Still in Play Is Totally Unjustifiable - the Manager
Although Vicario's error led headlines, this was an overall poor performance for Spurs to continue their home woes.
The match was their 10th home loss of 2025 in the league, a joint team record matching nineteen ninety-four and two thousand and three.
The side still have home fixtures against Frank's old side the Bees and title holders Liverpool to come prior to the close of the season.
Just a single of those wins have occurred after the manager took over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
"When you're down 2-0 following the opening, there is a huge challenge to overcome," said the boss.
"During in a poor run, all aspects appears to go against you too – the opening was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.
"This result leaves us in a place where we have lost another game. Each fixture has a unique story, today we were defeated in the first six minutes.
"We just need to keep working. The second half was much better and with luck something we can use to develop."
Tottenham have been defeated in 4 consecutive home capital clashes for the initial time in the top division.
And they are averaging 9.5 shots and three point two shots on target per match in the division – their lowest rates on file in a one season (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Former Fulham midfielder Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.
"He's got take the stick," Murphy remarked. "He's taken a prestigious job at a huge team with massive anticipation. There is scrutiny and duty that accompanies that.
"Their showings at their stadium have been poor and they have to improve {quickly|
