Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Car Crash

The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned industry figure passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a motorway in LA on Sunday, according to.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
